Clandestine is a story about being part of a Clan.
Hi ! This is me, Sophie, a french ceramic explorer based in A Coruña, on the Spanish Atlantic Coast.
After nearly 10 years working as a fashion designer, I started my clay journey when I left Paris to move to Galicia, next to the Ocean, in 2019.
I’ve always been a manual-kind-of-person, always had many personal projects around embroidery, knitwear, graphic print, always involving a piece to wear. So when I went to my first ceramic initiation class with a friend on a saturday morning, I felt there was a whole new world to explore, a new way to shape new objects and express my own version of Beauty .
After long hours modelling, loads of sketches, some luck and unfortunate firing tests, Clandestine was born.
Different collections are meant to evolve as I really think this world is infinite, as well as our possibilities.
Each piece is unique, like you, with its own character, its irregularities and differences.
Each piece of the collection can be seen as a love message to the Ocean, from the wavy handles to the sandy texture.
Each piece is related to another one, and all together they are a family, a Clan. Every piece is handmade, unique, and can represent irregularities, which make it even more beautiful and surprising. Families of vases and pieces are meant to grow and can be mixed together, to create your own Clan. Every Clan is imagined, designed, then slowly hand-made in the studio, near the Ocean.
